The charming landscape around Bruges in the middle of the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park offers optimal conditions for cycling tours. Enjoy pure relaxation while cycling through green meadows, past forests and rivers. Here are some of the signposted cycle paths that run through the municipal area. However, the routes partly extend considerably beyond the 61-square-kilometre community. Bruges Castle: In the middle of the 14th century, the castle was expanded into a fortress with four towers. It was privatised by the French government in 1801 and is still privately owned. In 1974, the municipality of Bruges leased the castle for the Museum of Man and Hunting, which opened in 1979. Swallow gate Torschänke: One of the two former gates of the Bruges fortress-you got to Dutch-Spanish terrain as soon as you had crossed the then Schwalm border river in half. Bruges Historical Town Hall: The current seat of the municipal administration is a former convention of the Order of the Crusaders. The original convent burned down and the library in 1751. Dilborn Castle: Anmended in 1363 owned by the Seger family of Swalmen, who received the property as the fiefdom of Duke Edward of funds.Lake Borner: Lake Borner was created in the 16th to 18th centuries by the mining of peat.-Planetary hiking trail-Bouleplatz-Nature and Animal Park-Rides & wagered trips-Dusseldorf about 50 km-Roermond Outlet (Netherlands) about 20 km
